A & B poppets are manufactured primarily for use in GAS Products valves. They are available in grey nylon and PEEK. With PEEK material, operation at pressure differentials over 1100 PSI and temperatures over 300 degrees Fahrenheit is quite common. Identifying characteristics of these parts are:
C & D poppets are manufactured primarily for use in Ball Valve Company valves. This company is now owned by CECO in Texas. These are available in slightly modified form for use in hoerbiger poppet valves. Identifying characteristics of these parts are:
J & K poppets are manufactured primarily for use in Ajax and Cooper Bessemer valves. They may also be used in the Dresser Rand "Processing" type of valves. These are available in grey or blue nylon as well as PEEK. Identifying characteristics of these parts are:
P poppets are manufactured for use in Ball Valve Company valves. These have a tapered spring cavity, which makes them more rugged than the standard Ball Valve poppets. The tapered springs are used to reduce the possibility of the poppet bouncing. These are available in black nylon and PEEK. S poppets are manufactured for use in GAS Products valves for high speed compressors. These are available in PEEK. T & W poppets are manufactured for use in valves made by Clark (now Dresser-Rand). These operate on a 30 degree seat over 1 1/8" holes in the seats and are designed for use with 5/8" diameter holes in the guard. T and W poppets are always available in nylon and may be available in PEEK upon request. X poppets are manufactured for use in valves using the CECO long stem poppets. These come in blue nylon. These poppets have a head diameter of about 1 3/8" and a stem diameter of about 3/4". #15 Spring This is a medium duty cadmium-plated chrome silicon spring that has been used effectively in hydrogen applications. #43 Spring It is a carbon steel spring utilized primarily in the long stem poppets used in CECO valves. #66 Spring This is a stainless steel spring that is used primarily in our mini poppet valves for high speed compressors. Tapered Spring This spring is used primarily in our "P" poppet which has the tapered spring cavity. They are usually used in valves manufactured by Ball Valve Company The tapered spring is a variable rate spring that is used to minimize poppet bouncing or oscillation. #74 Spring This is a variable rate spring made from stainless steel, and is used primarily in valves manufactured by Cooper Bessemer and Ajax. |
